SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II is a solar control product that features a high performance coating. The coating is applied to SGG PLANICLEAR float glass by cathodic sputtering under vacuum conditions.
SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II forms part of the ever evolving SGG COOL-LITE range of neutral solar control coatings from SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS. In order to achieve its superior thermal properties, solar control performance and neutral appearance, SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II must always be toughened or heat strengthened before assembly into a double-glazed unit.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II is a solar control coating for use in residential or commercial buildings,
either for façades or overhead glazing. Due to the unique properties of the coating, it is ideally suited to applications requiring a high light transmittance, low g-value and excellent neutrality.
The 4mm option allows the product to be used in entry level applications such as high end residential / low end commercial applications. This extended functionality allows more design flexibility whilst retaining excellent neutral aesthetics.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II balances the advantages of a high performance neutral solar control product with:
- High light transmission of 70%.
- Low g-value of 0.37.
- 1.0W/m2K U-value.
- High degree of neutrality.
SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II can be used to create more comfortable interiors by reducing overheating and the need for costly air conditioning, whilst at the same time noticeably reducing heat loss.
The high light transmission can also reduce the requirement for interior lighting during daylight hours, helping reduce energy costs even further.
A laminated version, SGG COOL-LITE STADIP® SKN 176 is also available which adds the following benefits:
Acoustic benefits – Improved acoustic performance.
Safety benefits – Helps protect against accidental and wilful damage.
Security – Can achieve a P1A & P2A. Accreditation for BS EN 356.
UV filtration – To help protect furnishings from fading due to UV light.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II is available in 6000mm x 3210mm and 3210mm x 2550mm dimensions
and in 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm thicknesses allowing for flexible design potential.
SGG COOL-LITE STADIP SKN 176 is available in thicknesses of 6.4mm and greater.

For optimum performance and aesthetics SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 II must always be toughened or
heat-strengthened before assembly into a double-glazed unit. SGG COOL-LITE SKN 176 / 176 II must also
be edge-deleted and should always be positioned on face 2 of a double or triple glazed unit for optimum
Please see the SGG COOL-LITE SKN and SGG COOL-LITE SKN II handling guidelines for more information.
